About

With a visionary goal of establishing a sustainable dairy business in the picturesque orchards of the Konkan region, Founder-Chairman Mr. Prashant Yadav and Director Mrs. Swapna Yadav took a revolutionary step in February 2023. They established Washishti Milk and Milk Products Pvt. Ltd. in Pimpalikhurd village, Chiplun taluka, located at the foothills of the Sahyadris and on the banks of the Washishti river.

Today, this project is not just a business; it has become a symbol of employment, self-reliance, and prosperity for thousands of farmers and young people. The modern plant, with a processing capacity of 1 lakh liters of milk per day, produces high-quality dairy products such as milk, curd, buttermilk, lassi, shrikhand, amrakhand, paneer, ghee, flavored milk, basundi, peda, and various delicious flavors of ice cream (ICY Delight Ice-cream).

In a short span, all Washishti Dairy products have become incredibly popular and have earned the trust of consumers. Numerous distributors, small and large shopkeepers, and transporters in the Konkan region are benefiting from this, which is a living example of a successful cooperative model. The project's continuous expansion and capacity growth are a result of our five-point value system: disciplined planning, farmer-centric policies, transparent transactions, simple procedures, and social commitment.

Washishti's Methodology: The Direction for Strong Rural Development

It is the need of the hour to provide farmers in Konkan with a sustainable and profitable supplementary business to farming. With this perspective and under the visionary guidance of the renowned cooperative leader, Subhashrao Chavan, the Washishti Milk & Milk Products Pvt. Ltd. project began with the motto, "Konkan in every particle." In a short period, Washishti has achieved unprecedented growth and has set an ideal for a new era of cooperation in Konkan.

A Direct Connection to Rural Areas Through Milk Collection

Through the Washishti Milk Producers Cooperative Society, well-equipped milk collection centers have been established in many villages across Konkan. Collection centers have been set up in Malghar, Veral, Dasturi-Chinchghar, Ambadus, Pimpali, Kapsal, Savarde, Kaluste, Bhom, Shirgaon, Mahalunge, Palgad, Dalvatne, Gunde, Dhamanand, Tali, Kadwali, and Kumle. Modern Bulk Milk Cooler (BMC) centers have been started at Malghar, Ambadus, Dasturi, Veral, and Khershet, which ensures excellent control over milk storage and quality. This has been a great benefit for both farmers and Washishti Dairy. The milk distribution chain has now expanded to Chiplun, Lote, Khed, Bharane, Alore, Guhagar, Sangameshwar, Pune, Sindhudurg, and Mumbai, which is a symbol of Washishti's professional consistency and reliability.

Our Commitment to the Economic Dignity of Farmers

Farmers are paid for their milk sales every week, and at a rate higher than the government-mandated prices. This is not just a transaction but a living example of our commitment to farmer welfare and a partnership built on respect.

The Washishti Dairy project views farmers not just as milk producers but as partners. Therefore, the project provides services and facilities such as a high-quality supply of cows and buffaloes, certified animal feed and medical services, independent veterinary officers and guidance centers, a well-equipped laboratory to test milk quality, and mobile vans.

Our Story is Told by the Numbers

According to the 21st livestock census of the Government of India, Washishti's methods have led to a significant increase in livestock throughout Konkan. These numbers are not just statistics but a testament to effective policy, a scientific approach, and proactive cooperation.
